Our Radical Healing Educator’s Summit provides participants an opportunity to learn and reflect in an intimate retreat location as they learn skills and techniques to improve their capacity to educate, advocate for, and heal with children and youth over a period of 3 days with world class facilitators.
Radical Healing is a process that improves organizational culture, transforms individual practices, and builds healthy outcomes for young people. By integrating issues of power, history, identity, and the possibility of collective agency, Radical Healing rebuilds individuals and communities that foster hope and political possibilities for young people. Healing from trauma that results from social oppression such as racism, sexism, homophobia, and class exploitation is important in achieving personal well-being and institutional change.
During the summit you will develop skills to:
- Be more effective in building individual, collective and institutional well-being
- Improve young people’s social-emotional health
- Cultivate practices that improve school climate and racial equity
What educator’s said about last year’s summit:
- “This retreat helped me shift from thinking about what I want to stop, to what I am trying to create.”
- “I am able to see the world from a new lens”
- “A significant takeaway is having to ask different kinds of questions from not only a headspace, but also from a spirit/heartfelt space.”
