Effective strategies to support young people of color based on 25 years of experience, research and sweat!
While our communities are places of possibility, they also breed hopelessness…
Both young people of color and the adults who support them are overwhelmed by violence, and stress both of which damage well-being, hope and the ability to change things. Schools and youth serving agencies often struggle to support youth of color, and find it difficult to keep them hopeful, and engaged. The result is that millions of young people color are growing up hopeless and disengaged, without the tools they need to create the type of schools and communities in which they can flourish.
Flourish Agenda is a national nonprofit consulting firm that works with schools, youth and youth agencies, foundations, and local governments to build strategies that allow young people to flourish. Our mission is to design strategies that unlock the power of healing and engage youth of color and adults in transforming their schools and communities.
We want people to get off the path of the discouragement, and onto the path of possibility and hope. That starts with Radical Healing!
Radical Healing means restoring hope, power, and possibilities in schools and organizations. Radical Healing’s power is building relationships that improve organizational climate and supports the well-being of everyone. The result are powerful strategies and more effective policies that support young people with boosting their culture, agency, relationships, sense of meaning and aspirations (CARMA). Our framework has been developed over the past 25 years and has a track record of impact! We provide agencies with tools, training and insight necessary to improve their engagement with young people of color.
